Not in that, whoa that Viv has some tight lil' body like Kerri Walsh sort of way either. It's tight along the lines of my leg muscles are so tight. I can't touch my toes tight! I decided to bring yoga into my plenitude of workouts. I went to yoga on Wednesday with my pal Kelli. She can probably vouch for all the grunts, groans, and a low key WTF she heard coming from my mat. The yoga instructor had to make a special announcement, " If you can't reach you toes use the band to pull yourself forward." I was the only one who reached for my band. It was good for my tight muscles. Yoga will be squeezed into my week every week to aid getting these muscles loose and help avoid injury.
Speaking of injury, my stress injury was that of a stress reaction. When I went to McDreamy for my follow up the x-ray showed no calcification on the fifth metatarsal indicating no fracture healing, hence meaning no fracture.
(whew, I am exhausted from that long coma spliced sentence) It felt good to walk on and I was cleared to run, bringing it back slowly. For track this week I did a total of 2 miles with no pick ups just comfortable pace. My legs and feet felt comfortable with the run, but my lungs need to get used to the running again. Not to mention I lost my acclimation that I worked so hard to achieve with high noon runs, bastard! So, back to the drawing board with running. I have my first long run back this weekend so we shall see....
Best of luck to my chickies doing Irobabe this weekend, RACE HARD!

Hurray that there was no fracture and you can now get back to running! Some of those folks in yoga class are so intimidating, but it is worth it (says the girl who hasn't gone in about a month)! Have a great weekend!
Thank goodness there's no fracture! And great job on getting back on the track right away. You are my HERO!
You're going to love yoga, and you'll be touching your toes in no time!
I prefer to think that I'm genetically incapable of touching my toes. Comfort thoughts.
Coolio on the foot!! Kerri ain't got nuthin on ya!! ;-)
Luckily it wasn't like that in the Yoga class i took. I can't touch my toes any day until I stretch A LOT.
I am so happy about your foot. That is great news!!!
Glad you are back on your feet! Who cares about the band in yoga, at least you are doing it!! Most people just want to look good and aren't doing the stretches right w/o the band!
I'm going to have to jump on the yoga bandwagon too.
Glad to hear you are back out there running again. Don't worry about acclimating - it will all come back to you soon enough, and before we know it - cooler temps will be here. A girl can dream, right? :)
Yeah!! On the no stress fracture news!
LMAO @ your yoga class replay.
Yay Viv I'm glad you got the clearance!
Good to hear that it wasn't actually a fracture and you can resume running!
Great news about being cleared to run. Too bad about losing your "acclimation", but you're tough, and I'm sure you'll be back to your old self in no time.
Glad your foot is good to go. I'll bet the come-back comes faster than the first try (did that even make sense?)
YAY!!! ME GIRL IS BACK!!! WOOT!!

Ooh just got another glimpse of the Olympic hotties. Yum.
That is so awesome. I am so elated to hear of this. Whew, you now hae the green light. Don't worry, it will all come back to you when it comes to running. Just go nice and easy. Hooooorrray !!!!
Yay! So happy you are getting back to running.
I may have to be a lemming again and finally get into some yoga. Maybe it would calm my stressed-out self out. :) Anything's worth a try, I guess.
Happy weekend!
Take it easy on your first longie back and enjoy.

So glad to hear that you are cleared to run again. Keep at that yoga and stretch after every run you do. Long muscles are strong muscles.
Good Luck on Iron Babe!
Yay! You're back! I loooooove yoga. It gets easier the more you do it - well, as far as flexibility goes anyway :)
